Socials & ExcursionsIn addition to intercultural evenings, you're invited to join us for social events. These are small group activities, such as watching a film, playing games or learning some Dutch, and are held at students’ rooms or other locations in the city. International students are invited for these events by e-mail and usually need to sign up for them by e-mail. Watch this space...Throughout the year, ISMA organizes a number of excursions. You can receive more information about these activities, which may also be outdoors, during the intercultural evenings, at the Bridge or by e-mail. movie night 25 octoberYou are very welcome to visit the first ISMA movienight of this season on Saturday 25th of October! During this night a movie of Krzysztof Kieslowski is shown. Kieslowski is a Polish film director and lived from 1941-1996. He made some different movies, but one of his most famous works is a series called ‘The Decalogue’ and he won several awards with this series. ‘The Decalogue’ is a series of ten episodes about the ten commandments. From this series the last episode will be shown: ‘Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods.’ The IMDB movie database wrote about this movie as an introduction: “"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods" - especially not when it leads to the conclusion of this black comedy about two brothers who inherit their father's valuable stamp collection and end up paying rather more than they bargained for…” Pieter de Boer (a previous ISMA chairman and at this moment one of the host families) will explain something more about the background of this movie. Location: We will meet at Pieter’s house in Amstelveen (Punter 379 - route description below) around 20.00h. We ask you to sign up per e-mail for this great movie night before Wednesday 22nd of October to have an indication how many people will join us.
