CHURCHES in Amsterdam

There are hundreds of Christian churches in Amsterdam, of many different styles and denominations; the main distinction is between protestant and catholic churches.

ENGLISH REFORMED CHURCH
Also called the ’Scottish church’, this is a traditional English-speaking church of many internationals, with a beautiful building and music. They are an international congregation with a Reformed background, but members come from many different denominations.
Sundays 10.30 at Begijnhof 48, Central Amsterdam

CHRIST CHURCH AMSTERDAM
English speaking Anglican church mixing traditional and modern in a welcoming atmosphere. Small groups also meet regularly during the week.
There are 2 congregations in 2 different locations, both meet at 10am:

CHRIST CHURCH CITY CENTRE
Sundays at 10.00
and Sundays at 19.30 every 2 weeks
at Groenburgwal 42 (by Waterlooplein)

CHRIST CHURCH SOUTH 
Sundays at 10.00
at the British (Middle/Upper) School on
Fred. Roekestraat 94a.
(near the WTC)

 

CROSSROADS INTERNATIONAL CHURCH
Large and lively American church in South Amstelveen attended many young internationals and students, as well as a growing number of Dutch. 'Prime Time' is their special programme for people in their 20s and early 30s.
Sundays 9.36, 11.10 and 12.49 at Amstelveen College, Startbaan 12, 1187 XR Amstelveen.

 

CHRISTIAN CITY CHURCH
Lively contemporary, multicultural church with bilingual services in Amstelveen. 

 

WATERLAND CHURCH
South African led congregation with services in Dutch and English – very close to Uilenstede.
Sundays at 10:30 at Wijkcentrum de Laagte, Henegouwselaan 2, 1181CW, Amstelveen

 

HOPE FOR NORTH
Multicultural congregation in the North of Amsterdam. Services are Dutch with translation

 

UILENSTEDE INTERNATIONAL CHURCH
Small group, mostly students, who meet in the Uilenstede  sports centrum.

As well as English and Dutch churches there are many churches in many other languages, for example a Russian Orthodox church, German church, French church and many African congregations.  We cannot list them all on this website, but if you want to find a church in your own language, please ask us for information.
