| What do we believe? |
|
ISMA is run for international students by Christians, but what does that mean? Simply, a Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ, whom we believe is our Lord and Saviour. Well, who is Jesus then? And why do we need a saviour?
If you have questions like these and want to know more about what we believe, check out Two Ways to Live. It’s a simple outline of the life of Jesus and what it means to be a Christian: www.matthiasmedia.com.au/2wtl/.
As Christians, we believe God speaks to us through the Bible. The Bible, however, is a huge book and if you’ve never read it, it can be difficult to know where to start. For an explanation of the Bible story in simple English, check out the Story of a Kingdom: www.sok.org.uk (also in Turkish and Chinese).
If you don’t have a Bible, don’t worry. It’s online, in 27 different languages, at www.biblegateway.com. There are also Bibles you can take for free from some of our ISMA events, or we’d also be very happy to find you a copy in your own language- please do ask an ISMA team member about this.
Of course, the easiest way to find out what someone believes is to ask them! So don’t be afraid to ask us; any of the ISMA team would love to answer your questions and to explain what being a Christian means to them. |
